Across 54 counties currently engaged in the Extension Master Gardener Volunteer (EMGV) program.

The Nebraska Extension Master Gardener Volunteer program extends the outreach of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln by providing volunteers with science-based horticulture education, which prepares them to share their knowledge with the citizens of the State.

Statewide Extension Master Gardener Volunteers contribute to the health and wellbeing of their communities by volunteering at demonstration gardens, Growing Together Nebraska donation gardens, Ask A Master Gardener booths, and the 4-H projects to support their communities, enhance their surroundings, and engage youth.

Participated in programs promoting tick safety to reduce bites and reduce illness.

Ticks can be active all year round, and outdoor activities such as trail running, hiking, camping and morel mushroom hunting take place in prime tick habitat. Nebraska Extension educates about tick identification, bite prevention and potential illnesses to ensure that Nebraskans are ready to enjoy the great outdoors.
